Cornwall & Isles of Scilly FLAG

Cornwall & Isles of Scilly FisheriesWe produced a strategy for a Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG) covering Cornwall & the Isles of Scilly.

The strategy includes a socio-economic analysis of the coastal areas, an overview of the community consultation that took place, a SWOT analysis, and some indicative programme activity. In July 2011, the FLAG was awarded £1,139,000 from the European Fisheries Fund.

Day of the Region

Day of the region - full jpgThe Day of the Region initiative in Dumfries and Galloway has been running since 2011. It is a community capacity building programme that brings together a range of groups and businesses on an annual basis.

We undertook an evaluation of the initiative – looking at the process and impact of programme activities and measuring the difference it made to participants.

 

East Leicestershire LEADER

East Leicestershire LEADERWe produced a strategy for Leicestershire County Council and a Local Action Group to deliver LEADER.

Approximately £1.5 million is available to provide grants to small businesses and communities in East Leicestershire between 2015 and 2020.

 

Yorkshire Dales LEADER

Yorkshire Dales LEADERWe produced a evaluation of the Yorkshire Dales LEADER Programme.

The report follows a logic path through the evidence – considering the research that was undertaken to produce the Local Development Strategy through to the outputs, outcomes and strategic added value delivered by the programme.

Fit for the Future?

Fit for the futureWe produced a report for East Midlands Council to help Local Authorities improve their economic development practice and learn from each other.

This study highlights how the recession and economic downturn placed financial pressure on Councils, and led communities and businesses to place increasing demands on services. At the same time, it draws attention to the huge range and variety of activities undertaken by Councils to respond.

Northern Lincolnshire LEADER

Northern Lincolnshire LEADERWe prepared a strategy for the Local Action Group in Northern Lincolnshire.

The strategy provides an overview of the LAG area and its distinctiveness as well as some priorities for local action. The programme is open for applications until 2020 and has £2.1 million available for projects that will create jobs and economic growth.

Lincoln Cathedral

Economic and social impact of the cathedral jpegWe produced a report on the global significance of Lincoln Cathedral as a visitor attraction.

This flagship report, produced during Ivan and Jessica’s time at Globe Regeneration, analysed quantitative and qualitative data to understand the  economic, community and cultural significance of this iconic building.

Evaluation of the North York Moors, Coast & Hills LEADER Programme

We recently launched our report on the North York Moors, Coast and Hills LEADER Programme at Fountains Abbey.

This short report summarises the findings of the evaluation of the North York Moors, Coast & Hills LEADER Programme.

The report was launched on 16 October at Fountains Abbey.

Some 200+ people attended the event to celebrate what the Programme has achieved and what opportunities there are to expand and grow into in the future..

National Review of LEADER Programme

Review of the Leader Approach for Delivering the Rural Development programme for EnglandRose Regeneration helped review the LEADER Approach for delivering the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).

LEADER is a European funding programme for rural communities.

Rose Regeneration and the universities of Lincoln and London undertook a national review of the current programme and the extent to which it demonstrated value-for-money.

We also assessed the economic, social and environmental benefits it had delivered; how delivery processes could be improved; and what the programme might look like from 2014.

Local Nature Partnerships

South Pennines Local NatureWe worked with Pennine Prospects to develop a detailed picture of socio economic conditions across the South Pennines landscape – to maximise the impact of future programmes and funding bids.

We are also working with the Wildlife Trust to understand what peoples’ aspirations are for some of Cornwall’s wild and special places.
